Follow Rules !!

When pre-historic man lived in the wilderness there were no rules. Only the natural rules of "survival of the fittest" were prevalent. So, the stronger, younger and faster you were, greater were the chances of your survival. As man evolved, he discovered that he had a brain power which made him smarter and hence could make up for physical deficiencies.

He quickly used this to develop a language for communication, created tools to support himself, organised community living and formed rules. These rules were formed to ensure justice, orderliness and discipline. As the original in-habitations became villages, towns and cities and organisations within them, the number of rules increased - and so did the complexities.

When we look at rules of any kind, the first thought that should come to our minds is that the rules were formed for us and not against us. By following rules, we are making our own lives simpler and better. By breaking them, we run the risk of taking the society backwards and into anarchy and chaos.

We have every right to seek changes in the rules if they are found to be inadequate or unjust. We can create new rules, by following the right process, for new situations. In no circumstance, however, should we break rules or encourage or allow for breaking of rules. When we follow rules, we may look like robots, but that is the price we have to pay for comfortable and secure living. If everyone in our society was following rules, it would be a much better place to live.

Do you agree ?

I agree with the rules but at times disagree with law of land as law of land favours one community and is against other community especially in Gulf and Middle Eastern countries.

Great going Vish hope you make many more blogs to enhance self and people reading your blogs.

My heartiest Congratulations on your reaching half century.. my wishes to you that you soon reach century..

As regards rules.. The rules have been laid down by man through the form of religion. While religion should be more inclined towards spirituality, it also lays down rules. eg. in Hinduism the Manu script lays down the rules and according to me in no generation was it a good rule book.. suppressing certain sections of the community. Similarly other religions also have their own sets of rules that are and were completely barbaric.
Further, to give an example, a distant relative of ours suddenly became very religious and started following the rule book to the T. Since somewhere it is mentioned that one should not cross the seas after Upanayanam, he stopped his son from going abroad for further studies..
I think one should apply common sense and follow a strong value system, than be a robot. Rules are always made based on certain situations and for certain situations, but there are more exceptions and exemptions to it. Just like a post sanction note seeking exemptions... Thats why i believe that they can never be full proof.
If not updated regularly, following old rule book leads to disaster. We have and are seeing such events regularly.
I feel life has to lived fully.. not bound by rules always... Life is very beautiful beyond rules...:)

Congratulations brother...on your 50th blog entry...

I agree with your views on rules...however, one more view is rules are the absolutely fair and un-biased. If everyone had their own set of rules, that is the beginning of chaos and anarchy. If people keep changing rules all the time, then rules lose its meaning and value...

Bravo....Hope you reach your century blog very soon....I have written my first blog as well by the way...

Cogratulations on your 50 blogs ... I wish you great thinking for many many more. Freedom within restrictions is what i personally believe in for an orderly society. As humans perhaps we can not digest unlimited freedom & i agree with your views.
